Eetti Helsinki: Chocolate, labour and direct trade
Alkamisaika
Päättymisaika
Everybody loves chocolate! Have you heard that we might be running out of cocoa to produce it, though? And what can be done to stop the bitter misery of child labourers and slaves, which hides behind that sweet taste of your favourite bar? Eetti Helsinki invites you to discuss direct trade as one of the possible responses to the problems of cocoa production!
When: Tuesday, 8 November, 6–8 pm (18:00–20:00)
Where: Antikvariaatti Sofia (Vuorikatu 5, 00100 Helsinki)
How can I join: email Kinga (kinga.polynczuk(at)helsinki.fi)
Emmanuel Yakah (cocoaprojects.com) will tell us about the issues involved in cocoa production and trade and how his work within the framework of direct trade aims to mitigate these problems, followed by Jukka Peltola (Goodio) who will talk about the experiences of his company with direct trade.
As we will be serving hot chocolate and some snacks, it would be great, if you could let us know that you are coming by sending an email to kinga.polynczuk(at)helsinki.fi. However, you are warmly welcome even if you do not inform us beforehand!
Hope to see you there!
