Demo Finland together with the Finnish Delegation to the Nordic Council invite you to a seminar on current Nordic democracy support. The focus is on political parties’ role in enhancing pluralistic democracy in democratising countries.

The seminar will be opened by Member of Parliament Satu Haapanen who is also a Member of the Finnish Delegation to the Nordic Council and the Chairperson of Demo Finland. The keynote speech will be given by Minister for International Development, Pekka Haavisto.

In addition, Nordic democracy support organizations of political parties will present how and with what results they are supporting democratic transformation, political parties and multi-party systems in developing democracies.

The event will be attended by Danish, Finnish, Norwegian and Swedish political party actors working on democracy support. In Denmark and Finland, political parties work on democracy support through cross-party organisations wheras in Norway and Sweden, political parties conduct democracy support through separate political party affiliated organisations.
